“Why take the cow when you can get the milk for free?” Dr. Kweethai Neill makes light of living together versus marriage. But her message is serious, “Too many people believe love does not last, but that is only because they do not understand what true love is.” That is the basis of Lessons in Love by Dr. Kweethai.
Each Lesson is based on a unique aspect of intimacy, relationships, and, yes, sex. The intent is to help you become comfortable with yourself and your sexuality. Topics include How to Talk So Your Partner Will Listen, Finding & Keeping Love and The Big O.
Dr. Kweethai ‘s background as a former university health educator allows her to use anatomically correct terminology naturally,
yet without the talks becoming clinical. To the contrary, the audience members found themselves laughing at a quip while nodding in an acknowledgement of self-reference.
A common theme in the series is that most failed relationships are a self-fulfilling prophecy. “You do not trust that a relationship will last, so it eventually dies.” But it is not a natural death. “You harp and blame and accuse because you do not trust your partner. But is your partner really at fault? You cannot trust your partner unless you trust yourself. And too many people feel unworthy of a good relationship; they do not trust that they themselves can sustain it.”
